Spring Time is here!

Spring time is officially here. The weather in Oklahoma has been great, babies are coming out of the woodworks, and everything is turning green!

Recently, we have definitely been taking advantage of the beautiful weather. 2 weeks ago, our good friends the Smith's (who are probably the most fun loving people I have ever met- it's not unusual to go to their house for dinner, and end up playing a few riveting rounds of hide and seek in their large house with all of the lights off.) decided to have a large slip and slide in the park near their house complete with baby shampoo (To help with the sliding). It was some good clean fun, and such a good time that made us feel like kids again! Here are a few pictures of the event.

Also as of late, we have had some neighbors move in. In the backyard. Specifically in our satellite dish. When I got back from Houston, I noticed some little finches that kept hanging around. 2 of them. I thought they just liked us until I spotted this:

I was pretty excited, and have been watching the nest every week. Finally! About 4 weeks later, these little dudes arrived:

And after a week, they look like this:

SO ADORABLE! They all just look so cozy in their nest sleeping, and their eyes have opened!

I think I might have been a little too interested, though. Sometimes at lunch, while the dogs are in the backyard playing, I want to check up on the little guys.

Well, apparently mother birds are very protective of their young. Who knew? I was standing on a chair, on my tip toes, peeking in to the nest, and I start to hear loud chirping. I didn't think too much of it, since my backyard has turned in to a bird sanctuary of sorts since I got a bird feeder (a purchase I thought of after I saw the nest). The next thing I know, there are feathers flapping in my face, and I almost fell off the chair.

I now take extreme caution now when checking in on the new neighbors. Caution like having to have at least one person watching for Mommy Bird, while Dallas puts me on his shoulders to get a good view and take pictures. :)

I may or may not need help with my undying curiosity.

Ahem.

This past weekend was busy and great! Friday night was spent watching THE LAST ASSIGNMENT NIGHT before ours! Afterwards, Susan and I were baking fools to prepare everything for the baby shower we were throwing on Saturday. The baby shower went great, and Sunday was spent cleaning, grocery shopping, working out and grilling with our friends!

Such a great weekend. :)

This week, we have lots of check rides, tests, and work going on.

That is all for now, so go and enjoy this great Spring time weather! (If you are lucky enough!)

Cheers,

Megan and Dallas

In review.....

So, since everything has sort of calmed down, and we got back in our routine, life has been hectic! Lots of tests, check rides, plans with friends, baby showers to organize, work, getting back in to a work out routine (Yay for being released, and able to workout again!) and getting ready for all of the craziness of May.

Here is a rundown of the plans for May

May 6 will be our assignment night. (Also, go ahead and throw in there an Anatomy and Physiology final!)That is where we find out what plane Dallas will get to fly during his career in the Air Force, and where our next assignment will be! To me, this is even more exciting than graduation. We have been in Enid, OK for almost 2 years, and I am ready to see where the Air Force will take us next. Which could literally be ANYWHERE!

May 14 will be Dallas' brother, Dylan's graduation from Texas Tech University. And while I am an Aggie, and don't really consider Texas Tech to be a real school (Ha, joking!) I am going to put my trouble with the school in Lubbock away for the weekend and be EXTREMELY proud of my brother! He is graduating with a degree in Petroleum Engineering Cum Laude! And he already has a real job! (Making more $$ than me and Dallas combined.....) So that weekend, we will be traveling to Lubbock for the weekend.

May 21 will be Dallas' Pilot Training Graduation! He will get his wings, and we will have tons of Family in town to celebrate this great occasion! We are so blessed with our family, and the way they support everything we do. :)

Whew! I have a feeling we are going to be pretty exhausted come the last weekend in May! We are hoping this summer, between training (Dallas will have to go through survival training, and possibly a few more training adventures, depending on the plane he will fly!) we will be able to make a trip to Colorado Springs with some friends to camp, hike and have a little bit of a vacation! :)

Speaking of vacation.....

Have I mentioned that we booked a cruise for January?!

Well, we did! It sounds incredible, and the best part is that we are going to celebrate Dallas' grandfathers' 80th birthday! We will be traveling to Turks and Caicos, San Juan, PR and St. Thomas, Bahamas! 7 glorious days aboard the Holland America MS Eurodam! We can't wait!

Here are a few photos of our upcoming adventure!

The Ship

Turks and Caicos!

San Juan, Puerto Rico!

St. Thomas, Bahamas!

Ahhhh!! I can already see myself on the deck or on one of these beaches with a fruity drink in my hand!

But before then, we will have to find out where we are going, move there, start training (again) and get settled! We are definitely going to be in need of a vacation, and I think this cruise will be just what we need! :)

Hugs to all!

Cheers,

Megan
